Newfields
Gardening C.I.C

Newfields gardening is purpose built for providing gardening and leisure activities in a relaxed atmosphere. We are wheelchair friendly and suit all mobilities. We are flexible in you choosing the activities you want to do, including growing plants, using machinery and taking part in arts, crafts and other fun things.

or visit for a Free Taster Day.

We are a not for profit organisation set in approximately one acre of garden with workshops, greenhouses, art/activity rooms.

Your gardening activities could include:

seed sowing, harvesting, growing plants, mowing, planting flowers/ vegetables, weeding, selling plants.

 

Other activities include:

art/craft, garden/indoor games, walks, wii, films, life skills, bird watching, exercise, dance, painting, photography, music, zumba.

We can consider your own ideas for activities in a flexible and friendly atmosphere.

Alison

Alison has over 20 years experience in horticulture, conservation and supporting people to learn new skills. Alison has worked on our current site for 14 years and was a main reason that Newfields opened in 2016. Alison is most probably the most patient person you will meet. If you want to learn how to grow plants and enjoy your day, come and join Alison.

Christine

Christine is a hard worker. She supervises our arts and crafts group, works in our greenhouses and sometimes takes the Garden Maintenance Team out to do work in the truck. Christine likes a laugh and has lots of ideas for the Arts and Crafts group. Christine likes small dogs and bright colours.

Matthew

Matthew supervises the Garden Maintenance Team. He drives our tipper truck and works hard in the community. Along with Alison he set up Newfields in January 2016, having worked at the site for 9 years. Matthew has over 25 years in landscaping and general maintenance. If you want to learn skills like fencing, mowing, painting and lots more, come and join Matthew.
